VAT Accountants.

We’re here to help with VAT advice

VAT is a complex tax process, even for a small business. The administrative burden is significant, causing headache and worry. It can be costly if you get it wrong. Many businesses inadvertently overpay or underpay VAT. VAT compliance is essential for all VAT-registered businesses, as there are strict legal requirements and HMRC regulations governing VAT returns, VAT payments, and the maintenance of accurate VAT records. We understand you don’t have time to worry about this.

We can support you with your VAT obligations. This can be as simple as preparing your book-keeping and VAT returns regularly and keeping you up to date with any changes in VAT requirements. It is crucial to submit VAT returns accurately and on time, using accounting software or compatible software to ensure compliance with HMRC and Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations.

Our expertise also means we can advise you on complex VAT issues and VAT planning opportunities or deal with a VAT inspection. Our advice is concise and practical. We engaged early with our clients to lead them successfully through the potential headache of recent MTD VAT changes. Making Tax Digital requires businesses to keep digital records and submit VAT returns through a VAT online account using compatible software.

Qualified accountants can help ensure your VAT calculations are accurate, your VAT records are properly maintained, and your VAT payments are managed in line with HMRC requirements.

Take advantage of our trained professional eye to ensure you do not fall foul of VAT and only pay the correct amount. We offer a full range of VAT services, including support with VAT compliance, submitting VAT returns, and liaising with HMRC on your behalf.

How we helped Merton College in Oxford

Merton College, Oxford were planning to replace the pipe organ in their listed Chapel with a magnificent mechanical action organ built and installed by Dobson Pipe Organ Builders of Iowa, USA. It involved significant costs and naturally they were anxious to minimise any VAT costs. Our advice enabled them to plan the project so that it qualified for zero rating. Once the project was underway we took care of the import documentation, VAT registration and VAT returns.
